TaskPulse
Monitor Windows Scheduled Tasks locally and get notified when a job fails or needs attention.
This is currently a concept, not downloadable software.
The proposal
The problem
A familiar source of friction.
Scheduled jobs can fail, become disabled, run abnormally long or stop executing as expected without you noticing. Checking Task Scheduler repeatedly makes it easy to miss a problem among tasks that are running normally.
The proposed solution
A focused way forward.
Stop checking Task Scheduler. Know when something needs attention. TaskPulse is a proposed lightweight, local-first Windows utility that would run quietly during the signed-in session, highlight tasks that need attention and notify you when a new problem appears. The first version would monitor tasks read-only on the current PC, complementing Windows Task Scheduler without editing tasks or attempting repairs.
Concept capabilities
What this idea could help with.
- Monitor Windows Scheduled Tasks on the current PC
- Get alerts when a newly detected task problem appears
- Focus on tasks that need attention in a health dashboard
- See last run, result, next run, action and observed status
- Avoid repeat alerts for the same unchanged issue
- Read-only: no task edits, restarts, enabling, disabling or repairs
